Sports Center „Gripe“ is a sports complex in Split. The large hall has a capacity of 6,000 seats. It is used for various sports, concerts, and events. The small hall has a capacity of 1,000 seats and is used for sports and concerts.
The complex was built for the Mediterranean Games in 1979. Despite such a long tradition, the facilities are still in good function and host a range of sports, many of which have carried the name of the city and the country into the world through the accomplishments of the athletes who have spent hours and hours on perfecting themselves in those sports.
The components of SC Gripe are the following sports halls:
• Large polyvalent hall – 1,800.00 m2. The hall is used for handball, volleyball, basketball and futsal training and can also be used for sports and other events. Tennis matches of the Davis Cup, weightlifting championships and boxing matches have all been held here, and it is also suitable for holding music events. The hall has approximately 6000 seats. The hall part includes the necessary locker rooms and sanitary facilities, both for athletes and spectators. Access for persons with disabilities is in accordance with legal provisions.
• Small hall – 1,252.00 m2. The hall is used for handball, basketball and futsal training, and can also be converted for all sports and other events. The hall has approximately 1000 seats and all other necessary infrastructure for holding sports events.
• Shooting range – Stare Gripe – 143.00 m2. The shooting range is exclusively used for shooting sports.
• Judo hall – Stare Gripe – 280.00 m2. The hall is used for judo, but can also be used for other martial arts, except for boxing, and for recreation.
• Weightlifting – Stare Gripe – 180.00 m2. The hall is specialized for weightlifting training and includes a spectator area with about 30 seats.
• Table tennis – Stare Gripe – 184.00 m2. The hall is exclusively used for table tennis training and competitions.
• Martial arts – separate building – Karate – 185.00 m2. The hall is used for karate, but can also be used for other martial arts, except for boxing, and for recreation.
• Martial arts – separate building – Boxing – 160.00 m2. The hall is used for boxing and kickboxing.
• Martial arts – separate building – Boxing, Kickboxing, Taekwondo – 160.00 m2. The hall is used for boxing, kickboxing, and taekwondo.
• Martial arts – separate building – Kickboxing – 185.00 m2. The hall is used for kickboxing, boxing, and taekwondo.
• Bocce court – 530.00 m2. The hall is specialized for bocce. The hall has about 50 seats.
